Hi John46, thanks for your help through this whole episode. My current noise figures are:-
Noise margin (Down/Up): 7.9 dB / 8.4 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up): 47.5 dB / 23.8 dB
I'm now satisfied that the main issue with my connection, which was multiple disconnects (>10 per day) has been resolved.
The issue commenced on 9th December which was the same day that my connection was upgraded at the exchange to 21CN.
The fault was a wiring issue on my line within the exchange which had a second connection to (broadband?) equipement which it shouldn't have had.
My conclusion is that the upgrade to 21CN at the exchange was (at least) the trigger for problem, if not the cause.
Many thanks to IMJolly and John46 for their help and pointing me at the moderator for help when the obvious issues had been rulled out. The moderator was a great help and arranged for the visit from the Openreach engineer who solved the problem.
In summary the problem started on 9th December and was fixed on January 20th.
My broadband keeps dropping and the orange broadband light flashes . after a while it goes ok . this often occurs and getting fed up . Spoke to the broadband help at bt who did a line check and forwarded me to a higher level as there was a fault found. Still the same now helpppppppppp
