Re: Broadband Connection Keeps Dropping - ERROR_NO_CARRIER

Go to solution

that's what I expect when you say upgraded but I would expect to see your modulation to show 992.3 or 992.5 which is adsl2/2+, adslmax is 992.1

I see what you mean, I have Modulation: G.992.1 Annex A set so it should be set to 992.5 if the connection is now ADSL2+? I presume this is something that BT can easily change? Thanks for your help!

you could try a full factory reset on the hub and see if that gets the right stats before you contact bt

Re: Broadband Connection Keeps Dropping - ERROR_NO_CARRIER

BT were supposed to re-profile the line last night. I've rerun the speedtest to see if there was any change but it looks very similar:-
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5790 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2000-7150 Kbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :7136 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 768 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6295 Kbps

I have just now done the reset that was suggested on the homehub and have checked the modulation setting but it is unchanged.....
ADSL Line Status
Connection information
Line state:     Connected
Connection time:     0 day, 00:16:19
Downstream:     7,072 Kbps
Upstream:     768 Kbps

  ADSL settings

VPI/VCI:     0/38
Type:     PPPoA
Modulation:     G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type:     Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up):     9.8 dB / 6.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up):     48.0 dB / 28.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up):     19.9 dBm / 12.6 dBm
FEC Events (Down/Up):     1625 / 1
CRC Events (Down/Up):     20 / 1
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):     0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):     0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):     0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote):     0
HEC Errors (Down/Up):     189 / 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):     0 / 0
     Hide Details

How is the Modulation set? Do I need to raise with BT that the Modulation is out of step as G.992.1 Annex A would appear to be at odds with an upload speed of 768 Kbp?

Re: Broadband Connection Keeps Dropping - ERROR_NO_CARRIER

you have a very good conenction speed for a 48 attenuation but maybe that is the reason for the connection drops.  getting mod help as john46 suggested is probably best as your HH3 should show mbps and not kbps suggesting something not right

Hi, thanks for the help, can I just clarify what you mean by HH3 showing mbps e.g. DSL Connection Rate 7354Kbps should this show e.g. 7.354mbps?

Re: Broadband Connection Keeps Dropping - ERROR_NO_CARRIER

if you check other posts you can tell immediately if the person has a HH3 as connection speed is shown as mbps not kbps which all the others show.  your last set of stats have a diiferent adsl connection speed - were they done at same time?
