HI
Yes the upstream is pretty much as advertised but is never impacted while in the evenings the downstream is severely impacted which I would not have thought with BT Infinity. In fact, even when I had normal ADSL, the downstream never varied even at peak times at around 13MB. Upstream back then was about 1MB.
I can understand it would vary a little at peak times, and prepared to accept that, but the issue really is how low my downstream goes in the evenings, last night it would not get above 3Mb which and at best on other evenings it is around 9Mb but only 50% of the time, the rest of the time it is below that. Come the morning and during the day and I have a solid 36Mb.
Really strange.
Thanks for your help.

So your upstream estimate is 7 Mbps max?
I think thats what the attached says;
Hi
Sorry for delay in replying.
Yes, installed to the master socket and engineer installed.
I will try reporting to BT again. Do moderators still pick up issues on the forums or is it just moderated for decency in terms of the posts themslves now? You may not know but had fantastic help from people like yourself and the moderators in the past who seemed more technically aware than the BT helpline?
Many thanks for your help.

I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem and once they have read this they may be able to help. If you can you run the speed test a few times during the slow down and again when the speeds pick up and keep a record of the results. The record may help them.
They are a BT UK based team and if they can help they will reply via this thread asking you to contact them via a link. Once you have replied to them by the link, it can at present take up to five working days for them to re-contact you.
Hi monkeybill,
