Broadband Issues

Hi All,

I'm new here so please bear with me.

My internet is useless. I suspect the home hub may be faulty too as the broadband light changes several times a day.

the wireless connection is continuously dropping. up to 20 times per hour.

the issues werent too bad after connection in may 13 but has got progressively worse since august.

I have got the following information from various tests outlined in another post

BT home hub 3

ADSL Line Status

Connection Information

Line state: Connected

Connection time: 0 days, 00:25:48

Downstream: 4.25 Mbps

Upstream: 448 Kbps

ADSL Settings

VPI/VCI: 0/38

Type: PPPoA

Modulation: G.992.1 Annex A

Latency type: Interleaved

Noise margin (Down/Up): 10.8 dB / 26.0 dB

Line attenuation (Down/Up): 44.2 dB / 27.5 dB

Output power (Down/Up): 19.7 dBm / 12.4 dBm

FEC Events (Down/Up): 27235 / 0

CRC Events (Down/Up): 40 / 1

Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

HEC Events (Down/Up): 836 / 4

Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 21 / 4

BT WHOLESALE BROADBAND PERFORMANCE TEST

Download speed (MBPS) : 3.70

Upload Speed (MBPS) : 0.35

Ping latency(ms) : 42.50

DIDNT NOTICE ANY INTERFERENCE ON QUIET LINE TEST

I have no telephone extentions and the hub is in my hallway attached to the only socket and away from any electrical interference.

BT are refusing to take any responsibility for the issues I am experiencing blaming wiring I do not have, electrical interference etc. I am frustrated by the calls as it takes so long to get through and when i do i repeat the same tests and get told the same things...

Can anyone help me to find a better way to approach BT?

Thanks

Re: Broadband Issues

You have a 4mb connection speed with correct profile and a 3.7mb download speed. Your noise margin due to the drops in connection is at 10.8db higher than the normal 6db.

Can you connect to test socket with a new filter and repost your stats please. I appreciate you have no extensions but the faceplates although unlikely do sometimes go faulty

Re: Broadband Issues

Ok. So stats look very similar to previous stats so now just stay connected with no manual resets and see if line stays stable. Then post new stats tomorrow. If you can get a stable connection for 3+ days then you can ask mods to reset your noise margin back to normal 6db which will increase your connection speed
