My broadband is due for renewal early in the new year.
Prompted by the Black Friday advert online, I logged in to find a whole host of offers, but also the system indicated that I had X days left of contract, after which my bill would rise by £8 month. This together with existing payment. works out less than a new contract.
Contacting BT they could, or would not confirm if I was able to continue with existing contract, plus the increase.
Anyone had similar experience, and if so what was the final outcome.
As yet not committed to anything.
Thanks

you now get a reminder that your contract is due to be renewed and then you can try MYBT for offers or you can phone options team 0800800030 who deal with renewals and see what deal you can negotiate
Thank you for ypur response.
I have spoken to BT options, but they cannot say what the "£8 per month" means IF I do not take out a new contract as and when the existing one expires.
£8 is the cap of the out of contract increases, for example previously Fibre 1 was £54.49 per month, once a discount ends it went up to the standard cost, now the out of contract increase is £8.
If you subscribed to a broadband package that was £35 per month for example, your confirmation email would state the cost was £43 per month with an £8 discount, so for 24 months it would be £35 then from month 25 it would increase to £43
I also have the same problem. BT seem very unwilling to tell me what my current contract gives me. OK, I should know, but as an over 80, I find it hard to keep track of all this stuff. So am I being pushed into a new contract I don't want - how can I tell? At least on PlusNet's website (a BT subsidiary), the details are made clear. I get the feeling all the time that BT doesn't want me to know or understand where I am, or even be able to find out.

Without sharing any personal info, what does your bill show you have ? we can then see what you have and list what it includes and what the benefits are.
