Broadband Speed Issue Help

Go to solution

Over the last week my Broadband speed has dropped from its normal 6-8mb down to approximately 1mb. Router was restarted approx 2 days ago as per the usual suggestion. I do realise that it takes up to 10 days to resynch so will keep on checking over the next few days. There have been no changes to my wiring or connection and I connect directly to the socket.

I have attached the speedtester results below.

 Download speedachieved
during the test was - 1.37 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable

Something must have interrupted the line a few times, you will just have to leave it connected for about five days and see if the IP profile increases again.

Hi once you have maintained a 3/5 day stable connection with NO Hub Restarts your IP Profile will the rise automatically every restart will start the time scale again
Hub restarts are the worse thing you can do

Thank you both. Will post a reply in a couple of days. I am aware that restarting is not normally a good thing but why is it always the first suggestion BT make for any issues?

it is a basic check that in most cases can clear a connection problem however an IP profiler problem like yours needst a stable connection to increase

Thank you both for your response and help much appreciated. My broadband speed has normalised to approx full speed. I was unable to select you both as answer given so had to do a coin toss as a fair way to do it.

You two are both doing a fantastic job on these forums!
