Here are some help pages done by CL Keith http://www.btinternet.com/~cbeddoe/speed/Speed.html
Can you also post the full results fromBT Speedtest speedtester.bt.com
Have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the master socket
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
This is a customer to customer self help forum the only BT presence here are the forum moderators
We've tried moving the Homehub around, but it makes no difference at all. Alas, we can't do the Speedtest either as we don't have an ethernet cable! Just can't work out why the speed has suddenly dropped as the set-up is exactly the same.....it seems to have disappeared overnight! All very frustrating indeed!
with your connection of 160 and btspeedtester giving incorrect download speeds I doubt there will be any difference using wifi as against cable
Righteo......any ideas on what to do next - should we contact BT or, as I suspect, will we get no-where on the phone and just get fobbed off? Videos still refusing to load......
Can't see you mention it but I am assuming you tried it with the sky hd disconnected from the phone line
It was the next thing on the list to try! I'll give it a whirl....if it is the problem then we're shafted!!
Tried disconnecting the cable from the back of the Sky box but it made no difference unfortunately!!
you would need to reset the router to see if any difference - just disconnecting sky box would not be enough
Tried the set-up as you explained to disconnect the Sky line but it made no difference unfortuantely! Arrghhh!!!
still down at 160 connection speed?
