First post and I hope you can help.
Recently had a noisy line repaired which was causing broadband to drop frequently and making phone callers very difficult to hear. Now the line is crystal clear but the broadband is realy slow at downloading.
I have tried all the usual suggestions to no avail I have read that the line may need to be reset is this correct?

can you run btspeedtester and post the results please
Unable to run speed test at the moment will try later, here are the hub stats which may be useful
ADSL line status
|Connection time||0 days, 0:53:21|
|Noise margin (Down/Up)||15.4 dB / 21.0 dB|
|Line attenuation (Down/Up)||38.0 dB / 23.0 dB|
|Output power (Down/Up)||17.9 dBm / 11.8 dBm|
|Loss of Framing (Local)||0|
|Loss of Signal (Local)||0|
|Loss of Power (Local)||0|
|FEC Errors (Down/Up)||16 / 0|
|CRC Errors (Down/Up)||0 / N/A|
|HEC Errors (Down/Up)||N/A / 0|
|Error Seconds (Local)||0|
the disconnections/drops in connection due to the noisy line has resulted in your noise margin being increased to 15.4 instead of the normal 6db. this results in the lower than normal connection speed of 2336 instead of about 7mb as suggested by your attenuation.
probably also find your profile is low again due to the connection drops caused by noisy line
if you can now stay connected 24/7 for 3+ days then contact the mods and get noise margin reset to 6db which will bring back the normal connection speed and profile will follow maybe few days later
can take up to 3 working days for mods to contact you
I will post back later next week to let you know how I get on.
I would still post your btspeedtester results when you get it to run. it will help if you need a profile reset later
Great news, after contacting the mods the lne was reset and I am now getting 3700kbs as opposed to 130kbs.
Thanks for your help and advice 😉
that's great - enjoy
