Broadband drops out when the land line rings - only since upgrade to broadband

Hi

I seem to be getting a consistent error  - my broadband goes down when the landline rings.

 

This has only happened / started since the broadband was upgraded last month.

 

Initially I had speed issues which was expected after the upgrade but with the line constantly going down when the phone rings is causing me an issue.

 

My settings are as follows......Any suggestions would be welcome

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods

in order for the forum members to help please can you  run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).


are you connected directly via a new filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home? filters can cause a problem as they don't last forever

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

Everything in the house that is connected to BT has a filter. Tried the quiet test - no noise that I could hear!

have you tried replacing the filter where router is connected as they don't last forever.  have you tried conencting with the new filter to the test socket to eliminate any problems caused by your internal wiring?

I replaced the filter at the main incoming BT wall socket and it appears problem solved!!

 

The phone line does not kill the broadband anymore. I have stopped getting certificate messages on ipads and computers. I will monitor over the next week or so.
