Broadband drops when a storm is close by

Second time a storm/lightning has been close by today, and the broadband is dropping out every few minutes. Goes on for over half an hour. Having to type this on a tethered 4G connection. Is this normal or not?

Re: Broadband drops when a storm is close by

Its quite possible, storms generate a lot of radio interference which can interfere with the broadband signal coming down your phone line, especially if any part of your cable route is overhead.

If its that close I would be inclined to unplug your home hub and phone from your phone socket until the storm passes.
