Broadband extender

Hi

I have BT 500 boradband extender which works fine with other pair of extender. However I have TP link extender and I want to connect it to BT 500 extender but no luck so far. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to this user forum.

You cannot connect two different types of extenders together, as they do not use the same standards.

The BT ones use AV500 powerline technology

Thanks keith. You really surpised me. It means I will have to buy extender from BT to attach more devices. I was under the impression that one manufacturer can be linked to other manufacturer.

If it was only that simple

There are multiple standards, and even if you find two different manufacturers using the same standard, there is no guarantee you can link them together.
