We have put together a short survey to capture your feedback in terms of what BT can do when you experience home Wi-Fi issues. We would appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to complete a short survey. Read more from here, Fix my home Wi-Fi
Hi can a moderator help please I have had numerous problems with BT broadband often due to line faults and very poor old aloy lines, after a very recent engineers visit the line was declared OK and the router was replaced by the engineer from origional Hub 4 to a new hub 5. Needless to say there are still problems!!!
The Wan log shows (128152.040000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request] and teh consequent disconection on a regular basis 2-4 times per day sometimes more and the snr has gone up from a relativly stable 6db over the last 4-5 months to 12-13dbs. The hub loses the blue lights and I cannot access the internet at all until it stabilises again
My connection to the hub is direct and in turn this is connected dirrectly to the main in port from BT through a MK4 plug.
There is clearly something wrong

have you tried using the test socket with a new filter to see if that helps stability
try dialing 17070 option 2 should be silent and best with corded phone
You are on adslmax and an upgrade to adsl2 should be available which should improve you down speed but increase up speed by about 100%
can you try the test socket with a filter even though I appreciate you have a filtered faceplate
see if this improves speed and also stability
Thanks for looking I have tried the test socket and it made no difference at all, I tried my draytek router and that held better but obviously the SNR still didnt move which was some of teh problem last time and a mod reset it.
How do I request the move to adsl2 please as well ?
I'll be able to upgrade you to ADSL 2+ if its available. If you send me in your details, I'll be able to check this for you.
Please can you send me in your details using the "Contact The Mods" link found in my profile?
I've been keeping an eye on your connection and I can see that your upload speed has increased to 800 Kbps. Looking at the stability of the connection it does seem like the line has stabilised. The current session has been active for 21 hours with no drop outs reported during that time.
I do think it would be a good idea to monitor the connection for a few more days. I'll follow up with you again on Saturday to see how the connection is performing.
Thank you for taking my call this morning. I've ran a few checks on your connection, the line has been nice and stable with no drop outs over the last 2 days.
The SNR has decreased back down to 8 DB and this has increased the sync speed to 4 Mbps. Please keep an eye on the connection over the next few days. If you have any problems with the stability of the connection, please get back to me.
