Re: Broadband slowing down again how do I proceed please?

That's a very good check list Thanks. But nothing has changed within the house as far as I can tell , what could it be that interfered for days and days and then stopped at lunchtime? The quiet line test didn't reveal any noise at all. Thanks for the input.

Re: Broadband slowing down again how do I proceed please?

Hey guess what? It's gone again & so has the upstream?

BT test says

Download speed achieved during the test was - 1600 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :2912 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 64 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2500 Kbps

Ohh help..................:(

Re: Broadband slowing down again how do I proceed please?

Hi There is another phone socket, i connect via ethernet cable to the router plugged into the master filtered socket. It was rewired by a BT engineer a couple of years ago after some building work. And the house wiring checked out AOK at beginning of July when BT Openreach engineer came. Thanks,

if you are using a filtered faceplate then that will eliminate any noise from your other extension
