Broadband speed not fit for purpose

Since signing up with BT in August 2011,I have had terrible problems with my broadband speed,I am suppose to be able to get just over 4 megs,but on a good day the most I seem to get is about 2.5 megs,this morning about 5 am,when not too many people would be up out of bed using the Internet,I found that after re-booting I was still only getting 0.8. I have now given up trying to use the BT vision I-player and pay on demand, because the picture keeps freezing,I have once again complained to BT ,I have also placed an order for a speed accelerator,but whether it makes a difference,not sure.Its all becoming frustrating and feels like hadrwork,I doubt I will consider renewing my contract with BT in the future,I seem to be using a service not fit for purpose.

Hi Welcome to the forums

If you post the full stats from your router

For homehub – type into your browser

Navigate to ADSL Settings or use the A-Z at the top right of the home page and scroll down to ADSL Settings and click on it

Click on More Details and then post the full results.

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

also you could try the hints given by poster RogerB in this link they may help

Then someone here may be able to help and offer more advice.
