Hoping someone can help me. Earlier in October I had my line repaired and following this my broadband speed has droped from approx 3.8 Mbps to approx 1.3 Mbps. I have let the router run without rebooting for over two weeks, but speed has not returned to it's previous value. I have looked at previous similar posts (including one earlier today) and have run the various tests as below. Thanks .
Just wanted to add that despite leaving the router alone for over ten days, it seems to have rebooted itself at some point, as time on hub log shows as only four days. Many thanks.
Just bumping my request up. Can any Mods help me with this ?
Hi John46, thanks for replying.
That's really strange as before October I was getting down speeds of 3.8 Mbps, but for the last month it's been 1.4 Mbps or slower. I used to be able to stream TV at 720p but now constant buffering.
I did the phone line check and that is quiet, so no problem there.
Could the recent line repair have caused any change ? I had crackling/noise on the line, and investigation revealed
a problem at the exchange, which was repaired. Since then speed has not recovered.
Line was repaired on 8th October.
Any further help gratefully received.
Hi Webby, thanks for yor reply.
Very disappointing if that's the case, as I am unable to upgrade to Infinity as not available in my area.
Is there anything further I can do to get BT to improve my speed ?
Well, I have to say I find this unacceptable.
Due to a fault at the BT exchange, and despite it being 'repaired' I have to put up with far slower speeds !
As a long time BT customer I expect better.
Thanks for your replies, everyone.
