Re: Broadband speed problems

if you still have noise on your phone line changing provider will have no affect as they all use the same line back to the exchange and in most cases the same exchange equipment the noise needs fixing first then your broadband should improve

Re: Broadband speed problems

you need to call BT faults on 151 and report the noise but do not mention broadband when you call

Re: Broadband speed problems

It's not just the latest problem thats making me wanna change provider,it's the drop out, custumer service and general average speeds, when you lucky enough to get a decent speed.

Re: Broadband speed problems

once the line noise is fixed then your problems should disappear your connection speed should then improve as well nearer to 4.3 mb the line noise is the cause of low speed and connection drops until you get that fixed broadband will be unreliable

Re: Broadband speed problems

the openreach engineers will be the same regardless of which ISP you use - unless cable.  there will still have the same work times so you will still have to fit in when they are avialable

Re: Broadband speed problems

with a noisy line it will never improve odd drop outs can happen to any one regardless of providers there are many reasons for that including local or national maintenance or network faults

Re: Broadband speed problems

Hello Mr Daz

I am having the same problem as you speed seems to drop out very quickly , have been on to bt and they had an engineer come and said it was outside the property , was even told by a bt member of staff to take the pc back to factory settings as they said it was the browser but this only added to the problem with updates on vista and 000.5 to upload the updates  , they aslo said they would monitor the issue and get back in touch to find today that they say the problem had been resolved , i am seriously on the verge of changing isp as this has gone on since the 16/7/12 when we had option 3 installed , like you i just wish they would do something as this pc is used for important work and relying on my nieghbour to pick up e-mails for me as the system has been so unstable it all seems to be wrong ,just hope bt read our messages as enough is enough .

Hope you get your issues sorted but dont hold your breath
