Broadband speed

Average speed sub 300Kbps - 2 engineers fail to turn up - inane comments from India "should get 4.5 to 5 Mb etc.",  think I have lost the will to keep phoning!! Any suggestions?

Re: Broadband speed

can you post the adsl stats from your router and run btspeedtester http://speedtester.bt.com and post the results. Someone may then be able to offer assistance

Re: Broadband speed

The comments from India .... allbeit probably executed using poor English ... maybe the truth.

The only way to find out, is post your stats ....

And a BT speed test ..... then, we;ll see.   🙂

Sorry Don , you weren't there a minute ago ...  🙂

Re: Broadband speed

Stats as requested -Download speedachieved during the test was - 268 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 100-500 Kbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :2912 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 440 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 350 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 9.73:24.21:66.07 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.

Upload Speed
710 Kbps

0 Kbps440 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
>Upload speed achieved during the test was - 710 Kbps
 Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 440 Kbps

Doubt if "someone" is in BT else would have spotted those from same exchange but other side of BT junction box are 2mb plus whereas BT claim cannot improve till exchange updated - though Mombai claim 4.5 to 5Mb expected!
