Broadband speeds and hub stats

Hi I hope someone can advise me.

I have been with BT for about 3 months now ans I thought I would get about 6mps down speed from the figures given when I signed up.

I dont understand the home hub stats but perhaps someone can tell if I am likely to get any faster speeds, here are the Speed test and Hub stats.

I had a similar problem at a previous address and the speed was improved by having interleaving resrored on my line. Am I righr in thinking that as my router stats/latency show "fast" this means that interleaving is switched off?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Broadband speeds and hub stats

are you connected to the master socket or the test socket?  do you have extension sockets in other rooms?

you can check possible speed here by entering your attenuation

check speed

Re: Broadband speeds and hub stats

Estimation of your maximum rate adaptive adsl speed

Downstream
Attenuation
 dBApprox
Line Length
 km

dslMAX kbpsIP Profile kbps

adsl2+ (21CN) kbpsIP Profile kbps

adsl2+ (LLU) kbpsThroughput kbps

Dont know what this means. Connected to the test socket,I only have a master socket, there are no other phones/sockets in the house.

Re: Broadband speeds and hub stats

have you tried the test socket Test Socket.jpg

worth checking  in case the front plate is  making a poor connection

Re: Broadband speeds and hub stats

you are on adsl2+ and that on the kitz site when you enter your attenuation will give an estimate of your connection speed

Re: Broadband speeds and hub stats

There is no noise on the line and when I put in my attenuation figure of 47.5 it gives me a distance of 3.4 km from the exchange and an ip profile of 5500kbps, so why am I getting less than this?

Should I ask BT to put interleaving back on?

Thank for all your help guys

Re: Broadband speeds and hub stats

you are on adsl2+and your connection speed should be nearer 6.4 mb your IP profile is related to your connection speed not the other way round
interleaving will not increase your speed

with your noise margin and attenuation you should be getting that and more
