Hi all
Just looking for any suggestions as to why my broadband is very unstable after re-contract ! I have let it settle for 4 weeks although no need to as everything is supposed to be exactly the same just readjusted price. Normally I always get around 14-17 Mbps but been struggling with anywhere between 0.5-14 Mbps but more around 5-6 Mbps.
other strange things have been hub throwing me off wireless and saying incorrect password and then can't do anything until reboot hub.
BTHub6 (smart hub).
Any help much apprciated
thanks
Mike
Solved! Go to Solution.
Can you post hub stats. Advanced settings then technical log information
has the hub firmware recently updated? If so try factory reset by pressing recessed button on back and holding until lights flash about 20/30secs
any line noise? Dial 17070 option 2 should be silent and best with corded phone from test socket
Are you now using a different home hub?
Is there any noise on your phone calls?
Thanks for the swift replies !
Quiet line test Good
These are the stats from hub just had to reset as couldn't get on wifi again. Looks good again now I think but give it 24hrs or so and will need to be rest again. Has run perfect for the last 18 months.
This is a list of your BT Smart Hub settings and current statistics.
Hi Keith
same hub and quiet line test good
thanks

Have you turned off smart setup
you have a good 18mb connection. You have split the wireless networks but I would also select channels manually rather than smart wireless
I will leave for a couple of days then repost as this is what happens when I reboot, it works fine for a limited amount of time.
Smart setup is on
separate bands with 5Ghz turned as this causes many problems if turned on
thanks
mike
And........... just got thrown from wireless Ahhh 🙈
Hi @willow7524,
Thank you for posting.
I'm sorry you're experiencing issues with your connection. When the Wireless connection drop does that cause the Hub to restart? Or do you need to restart the Hub to reconnect?
Thanks
PaddyB
you need to turn smart setup OFF
from your stats the 2.4/5ghz networks are split as can be seen with the '5' added to 5ghz network I would leave it like that but I would also select the channels manually rather than auto select
