Hi guys im looking into getting a new modem/router to replace my HH5 Type A and am on an ECI(Lantiq) cabinet and was wondering if using a broadcom based home modem/router chipset IE: Billion 8900ax-2400 would have any negative impact on my connection cant seem to find any solid info at all about it.
its a choice between
Billion bipac 8900ax-1600/2400 (Broadcom)
Fritz!box 7490 Int(Lantiq)
I've always favoured Broadcom chipsets when i have had a choice and i am on an ECI cab, however my HH5 Type B which is Broadcom based doesn't connect any slower or faster than my Type A HH5 and there is no difference in ping, i was just hoping to avoid the G.INP debacle.
Of the two you have listed I have seen recent posts by kitz on the kitz forums stating that people have been having "issues" with the Fritz!box routers. The billions seem to be a faviorate across the board.
I am on an ECI cabinet.
I have used three modems
HG612
ECI
HHA
of the three the HG612 gives better speeds and latency.
thanks guys great help billion bipac 8900ax-2400 it is then
