Ihave woken up to no dial tone on my phone this morning

I have woken up to no landline this morning.Although when I dial the number from my mobile it rings but all you can hear is the tone from the incoming call so unable to answer.Internet is absolutely fine ...any suggestions?

Probably a faulty line card in the exchange, its a very common fault.

Just report it as no dial tone.

If it was an external line fault, then that would cause your Internet connection to run slow, with a much lower connection rate.

Have you tried a known working corded phone in the test point of your main phone socket?

If you ring your home number from your mobile phone even though the home phone does not ring can you still answer the call?
