Good evening,
I'm on the superfast BT infinity package and I'm receiving download speeds of 74mbps with around 18/19ms ping however online gaming on the PS4 has been absolutely awful ever since the engineer came and replaced the master socket. A year ago, I was getting around 44mbps download speed and online gaming was perfect, there was absolutely no lag and everything was responsive however ever since the master socket has been changed (master socket changed last year), online gaming is awful, there is consistent lag, everything is so unresponsive and it makes no sense because I'm now getting faster speeds of 74mbps compared to 44mbps and I can only think I'm having this issues because of the master socket change. Many people reading this will think it's not because of that but I'm 100% sure it is because I've had this issue since the day the master socket changed, however BT don't seem to believe there's any problem. I've tried changing the master socket and have changed to the NTE5C and the same issue is still occuring; online gaming is awful. I have no idea how to fix this problem, I've tried everything; new ps4, wired connection, multiple routers but I'm 100% sure it's down to the wiring, something with the wiring is causing my online gaming to be extremely slow, unresponsive and unplayable. Has anybody got any solutions? I can't change ISPs to the likes of Sky and Plusnet because they use the same hardware as BT so im assuming the same issue will occur and Virgin media despite running via a cable is already awful enough. It clearly makes no sense for my online gaming to be extremely poor when Im getting download speeds of 74mbps when it used to be perfect when I only had 44mbps before the master socket and wiring was changed. Please please please help. Thank You

If you want to rule out the master socket then connect to the test socket with a filter.
Tracerts to the game server and bbc.co.uk would also help.
Hi
I've installed the new NTE5C master socket a couple days ago however online gaming has started to become super laggy. The wires in the master socket have been connected properly and we're receiving speeds of 76mbps download so I'm not too sure why I've started experiencing lag in games. It's nothing to do with the servers because when I connect to BT with FON, there is no lag. Any tips/ solutions? I have a blue wire in the A terminal and white wire in the B terminal.
Are you connecting via an Ethernet cable or wireless?
Have you switched off smart set up in router settings? Might be worth turning off BT Wifi with Fon as well.
Have you tried using the test socket with a filter and connecting directly to hub and see if that helps
do you use powerline adapters?
