Bt tv youview box purchase and tv subscription

My BT tv contract is due for renewal and I have a question about the monthly payments.

Does part of the monthly tv subscription go towards purchase of the youview box. I am asking because I have been with bt tv for 24 months so my box should now be paid for. My monthly renewal payments are going to be slightly more if I stay with BT, surely it should be less now that I have already paid for the box.

You no longer pay for the YouView box, its only loaned to you by BT, and would have to be returned if you end your contract, otherwise you will be charged for it.

If you received your original box before 13th December 2019, then its yours to keep.
