Emails not reaching btinternet.com users

Yes, same problem.

Emails sent to my @btinternet.com address sent from a Hotmail account are not reaching me.

It's been happening since Friday (18th May.)

Yes, I am also in the same trouble.   Had it for about 6 days now with just one emailer, the other person is still able to reach me.

My btyahoo email acc is not receiving emails from the domain @eu.sony.com.  I thought it was Sony's fault but they are saying it is my email address causing the problem.

@I assume when you say the sender emails your btopenworld address you're referring to the same bit before the @ in both cases?

In which case, this goes to show how appalling the mail service is if this is the case. btopenworld and btinternet email addresses are the same with regard receipt of emails.

Thanks for highlighting this.

Based on our logs it looks like Microsoft have introduced some new IP addresses for outbound email but not updated their PTR records (this is used by most mail providers and anti-spam vendors), we are in touch with Microsoft as only they can fix this problem, in the interim we are also looking to see if there is anything we can do to circumvent this problem for our customers.

With the ongoing Hotmail problem,  that you kindly commented on, do you know if the BT Technical Team have contacted Microsoft to try to get this resolved ?

When a Hotmail user emails me at my btinternet email, it's problematic.  It does not seem so bad to my BTOpenworld email address.  My username before the @  is the same for both.     Why is BTOpenworld failing less do you think ?

Simon, again you have failed the answer the questions.

Why does this only affect Btinternet email addresses and not other mail suppliers? Do you honestly believe everyone else is doing it wrong?

Why does it affect btinternet emails and not btopenworld when receipt should be the same.

Why is it always btinternet emails that suffer from all sorts of faults? It is recommended that people should steer clear of btinternet as a mail provider and use something else like Gmail.

One is grateful - given BT's past record on dealing, or rather, not dealing with such issues - but (and I'm as far from being an expert as is possible) I tend to agree with Andy N that it's much more likely to be BT's fault than Microsoft's since it is BT that is blocking emails from Hotmail and not the other way around.

But now the important question:

Any progress?

just tried mine sending from my hotmail.com account and email received by my btinternet.com account although slowly then replied and received immediately by my hotmail.com account - so not all getting blocked
