There have been a couple of recent posts, where people have ordered business broadband on a residential line.
The most recent.
"I arranged a residential line and got bt business broadband"
Is this allowed? I am sure one of the moderators last year said it was not possible?
Perhaps one of the mods can comment?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I wasn't entirely sure so I had a word with a member of the business sales team and they have confirmed that you can have business broadband on a residential line.
What they did say, was if customers decided to do that they'd need to look at their care option. As you're probably already aware, all residential customers are put on "standard care" which has the three working day repair lead time. If they go for business broadband, they'd need to sign up for priority care or total care to speed up the PSTN repair if any faults do occur.
Hope that makes sense!
Thank you for clearing that one up. I wonder how many do actually upgrade the care package, and are the business sales people making customers aware of that need?
My colleague made the point of telling me so I'm assuming they do. Thinking about it, they'd have to as it could be a major problem!
