Since I was signed up to Call Protect, it has blocked three calls from friends, all of whom frequently phone me without problems, all from standard UK phones. As I get very few nuisance calls, I would like to cancel Call Protect, but am apparently unable to do this without cancelling the 1571 answerphone. Any ideas?

Hi, welcome to the forums.
Do your friends withhold their numbers by any chance, and you have withhold numbers set to go to voicemail? Anonymous call reject can cause all sorts of issues, e.g. missed calls from doctors etc.
Have a look at the guide here :-

No, as I frequently get calls from them which are not blocked. However, have made the change you suggested, to see if it helps.
Thanks. It was just something that crossed my mind. If you've not got caller display, when dialling 1471 after they've rang do you hear their numbers read out?
Hopefully you've managed to fix it - I guess you can phone them and ask them to ring back 🙂
