We have a BT 8600 and call blocker has been working fine for well over a year. But recently, one (and only one) blocked caller (Telemarketer for smart meters working for British Gas) has managed to bypass the block. Any thoughts of how? And any ideas what I can do about it?

Perhaps you have somehow added them to your phone directory by mistake, and now they can get through without announcing themselves? I assume you have set Call Guardian so unknown callers have to announce themselves?
Check your list of numbers to see if they are there.
Not on our contacts list - and still showing as blocked on the call log. I think they have found a workaround - the same way for example that some "official" callers used to override hiding your number?
Does the caller`s number show on your phone? Are you sure that Call Guardian is turned on, otherwise it will still get through, even if its blocked?
Well done! It had been turned off for some reason. Have turned it back on and used custom mode to just block the "blocked" numbers. Thanks very much - I feel very stupid all of a sudden - but that is my normal mode nowadays
