Calls to mobile

Why do I keep receiving calls to my mobile which are identified as coming from places like Kiribati, Estonia Czech Republic? Of course I don’t answer and they disconnect after a few rings.

I’ve just seen a question about a call from Russia. I recognise the number because I had a call from Russia also. And I’m pretty sure it was a wi fi. As are the ones I’m receiving now. So nothing to do with bt, but thanks.
BTW it’s caused me to think. I upgraded my Norton “protection” and it installed vpn on my iPad and phones and I’m not sure what that means but I don’t believe in coincidence!
