People ringing our number are re-directed to someone else. However I can call out from our landline and the number shown when I do (to my mobile for instance) is our number.
Since joining BT I have taken 3 and a half days off for various problems including this one and they are now requesting that I book another engineers appointment to my property. Having spoken with an ex BT engineer, he is certain that the problem could not possibly come from within our flat and will be at the local exchange.
Is the ex-engineer correct? Is it possible for phone calls to come all the way into our property then magically bounce all the way back out to a different number?
We had an issue with our broadband in November which was eventually (after 3 weeks) resolved at the local exchange but only after 2 weeks of intensely frustrating dealings with their call centre (who treated me like a liar, refusing to acknowledge that there was a problem as they "couldn't see it at their end"!).
I am not in a position where I can arrange to have someone at my property and refuse to take any more of my annual leave as I feel that losing 3 and a half days of my already limited annual leave is already too much, particularly when the engineers rarely show up as scheduled and when they do, they simply tell me the problem was at the local exchange.
Meanwhile BT continue to charge me while only delivering half a service at best. I am already decided on leaving BT when my contract is up but I would like to have access to the service I am paying for in my remaining time with them.
I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are a UK based team of people, who take personal ownership of your problem.
