Hi all, I have Phone, Net & Vision. When the contract is up, can I just cancel the direct debit and be done with it?
I won't be in the country, I don't want to renew.
In an ideal world, I would like to inform them now.
Not only can you cancel it, I would say it's a must. It's a sure way to avoid mistaken debits. That applies to all DDs when payments are completed, not just to BT.
Remember though that you have to give BT a month's notice of cancellation.

The T&C (see below) say 30 days. Common sense would interpret this as a minimum requirement rather than 30 days exactly, no more, no less. But this is a telecoms company we're talking about ... ...
Just saw your last message. If it's going to be some time it might be as well to see if BT have a working maximum notice period. Try Live Chat, which is usually more sensible than the phone helpdesk.
