Thanks to toekneem, we now know there is no overall problem with 64bit Windows 7 and the HH3 and a FTP client.
It must be something local to either your box or your Homehub 3.
1: Factory reset on the HH3 would be the first thing to try.
2: Remove all your security software (I've seen both Mcaffee and Norton do something silly like this in the past). Including, but not limited to: Anti-virus/Anti-malware/Net protection/Firewalls/Internet security.
3: Failing that, I would try a Linux Live CD and see if command line FTP works. However, this may be something you are not comfortable doing. If the Linux CD shows that there is no problem with your machine FTPing as such, then you need to fix Windows 7. The best way of doing this might be a complete reinstall (after backing your data up)
Thanks for all the help guys.
I only have the HH2 - not sure that's the problem.
I'm visiting friends next week and will take the naughty laptop and try their router on WiFi - see what happens.
Some streaming is also restricted (viz. cam4 ) - so it's def. a block on some ports but only wireless!
Well, have moved to a friend's house and tried their router - no problemo - ftp etc all fine and worked a treat!
So, it's the BT router then. It allows all the other PC's to ftp . . . .
So, it's a reset of the router or . .?
