ive had infinity1 for 2 years but the speed hasnt increased since inf1 changed to "upto 52mb"
I get around 30mb d/l.
my router stats are currently:
|5698||27400 Current rate (Kbps)|
|5698||27314 MAX Rate (Kbps)|
|5.9||5.8 SNR Margin (dB)|
|29.6||26.8 Line Atten (dB)|
|0||0 Errors (pkts)|
I have run the test on speedtest.btwholesale.com which reports back:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 25.98 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 18.54 Mbps-26.49 Mbps .
IP Profile for your line is - 26.49 Mbps
and up load stats:
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 5.14Mbps
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10 Mbps
can anyone comment on the above, does it look "normal", is there anything to suggest i need to contact BT with the aim of improving my speeds?

In order to find out what services and speed range you should be getting, please enter your phone number into this form.
Broadband availability checker
You may be too far from the cabinet.
Please remember to edit out your phone number before you post the results.
The "speed increase" up to 52Mbps does not necessarily mean you will see an increase.
All it means is that the software cap that was placed on Infinity 1 lines to prevent any line that was capable of getting above the old cap of 38Mbps was moved to 52Mbps.
This would allow lines that were presently getting the capped speed of 38Mbps and were capable of providing more speed would be able to do so when the cap was raised.
If your line has never ever been able to reach 38Mbps you will see no benefit with the cap being raised.
Going by you stats, your Max data rate shows your line is only capable of a max of 27 Mbps or there abouts which means you would not get better speeds with the cap being raised.
If you do the test as suggested by Keith it should show an estimate of what your line should be able to deliver.
thanks for the replys guys!
|VDSL Range A (Clean)||31.7||22.4||6.9||5||--||Available||--||--|
|VDSL Range B (Impacted)||25||13.1||5.6||1.4||--||Available||--||--|
I take it from those results that I wont be able to get much more than 30mb 😞
