Can't download mms messages

Hi I have a notification for an MMS message but it won't download.  I have a Sony Xperia 5 and have up to date android and the settings for MMS are installed automatically.  I can receive text messages ok. I have also tried restarting my mobile.  Nothing works. Any other ideas not mentioned above would be greatly appreciated.

Actually no not yet, didn't want to tie up phone lines in a que if it was a simply FX I could find here.  Sorry about the other post, I could find the first one and thought I hadn't clicked the post button ! I've done that before 😱
