Can't send emails

Hello,

 

Can you help me I have Microsoft Ourlook 2010.

 

I have a Bt internet account and sub accounts which all work fine.

 

However I have two other email addresses with tiscali, one xxxxx.lineone.net and the other xxxx.tiscali.co.uk which recieve emails fine but they wont send.

 

Yesterday I verified both email addresses with Yahoo but I still cannot send.

 

Could you point me in the right direction please ?

Is it not normal that you can only send from your isp smtp server which wont accept others ?

OK then that is what I have always found for normal pop 3 / smtp servers

Hi.

 

Can you give any error messages you are receiving ?

 

You might like to take a look at my shortcuts option 0e - in case there's something that you may not have done. Typically it needs to be a setting or 2 in the smtp section of the non BT account which needs checking/amending.

I have a very old and well loved freeserve address (from dial up account ) which I would like to send from via Incredimail and have so far failed miserably to find a way

 

Have browsed Andy,s very useful tips a few times and still can not get it

 

freeserve wanadoo orange and god knows how many other name changes since I first had this address .

I think I've tried the steps in Andy's usedul tips but to no avail.

 

The fault is 'the server was interrupted'. I can't tell you more because I can't copy it and it disappears after a few seconds.

 

I have to say I'm not much good with this and I can log onto web mail so all is not lost.

 

However I would have liked to have used Outlook for all my mail accounts.

Hi again.

 

Can you email me via my shortcuts option 0e, and I'll see if I can help further. I may ask for a couple of screen prints of various Outlook settings windows. Any info found will be relayed back in "here" to help others if it works.

 

I thiink I've always managed to get this working in the end. Smiley Happy It's typically one of those items that is complex, but a methodical process can solve it. Of course, the process is not easy though !

Hello, I have just joined btinternet and am going through this cannot send emails process it seems like many of us. I have changed the smtp server to mail.btinternet.com and done the account additions and verified the emails. I have done two separate ones because we use sub-domain emails within an email account with an isp called nildram which is part of Talk Talk. I am now at the stage where I am getting this error. I have checked that I have smtp authentication on the relevant account (Outlook 2007) so I am a little perplexed. Here is the error message.

 


Task 'Derek Evans Nildram - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties.  The server responded: 530 authentication required - Your email could not be sent. To fix this you must make a simple change to your email (known as SMTP authentication). For advice visit www.btyahoo.com/smtp'
