Cancelling International Freedom

After signing up for International Freedom I tried it once, then tried to cancel online (within 14 days) by deselecting that package as an option. I even got an order number which seemed to confirm it was no longer on my account. But it still appears to be on my account. How do I remove it?

Re: Cancelling International Freedom

Hi @SteveAA,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post.

International Freedom has a 30 days notice period, can you check the date you placed the order and also let me know your normal billing date?

Thanks

Matt

Re: Cancelling International Freedom

Hello,

Thank you for the rely. What about the standard 14 day cooling off period, as per the online Consumer Contract Regulations? I signed up online on 15/4 and tried one international call for just a few minutes. Unfortunately the line was very poor. I therefore cancelled online on the 20/4. I was charged for the month and the add-on still appears to be on my account.

Re: Cancelling International Freedom

Sorry @SteveAA, I completely missed that you had cancelled within the 14 days cooling-off period.

If you cancelled the service on 20/04/2020 which was within the 14-day cooling-off period the service will stop that day and you will only be billed for the time you had the service (15/04/20 - 20/04/20?. Your online MyBT account won't update until after your next bill as the products and services on MyBT don't update live.

I hope this helps?

Matt

Re: Cancelling International Freedom

Thank you for your reply.

I was charged a percentage amount from  15/4-19/4 plus the full monthly amount from 20/4. As bad luck would have it, the new bill arrived the day I cancelled. My main concern is ensuring it is cancelled and these monthly charges will not now continue.

Re: Cancelling International Freedom

@SteveAA

The monthly amount charged on the bill dated 20/04 should be refunded on your next bill dated 20/05. If it's not then we know the cease has not completed correctly but if it does then the cease has gone as planned.

feel free to post back on this thread if the bill is not correct and we can take a look for you.

Thanks

Matt
