Cancelling Sky Sports Main Event add-on

I have just been able to cancel Sky Sports Main Event on-line through MyBT.   Had to start a new order for TV, went through  the options, left my current package un-changed and low and behold there is an option to cancel sky sports main event,   Thought I would pass this on as I know how we have all been frustrated trying to do this over the phone which is never answered.   Good luck with this and keep safe in these worrying times. 😷🤒

According to the help pages, you won’t now be able to add it back on.

In the help pages it states:

“If you were a BT TV customer before 21 February 2020 and Sky Sports Main Event is part of your existing package, if you remove it, you won’t be able to add it again. You’ll need to move to one of our new flexible plans by logging-into my BT  or calling us on 0800 100 400.”

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports Main Event add-on

Hi, no it doesn 't as this was a bolt on which I could add or remove without it affecting my current package. I know when I add it back on it will then cost me £35 a month, but at least I will get all the sky sports channels not just Main Event. I will cross that bridge when I come to it, just glad to be out of it for the time being. I cancelled it last year at the end of the football season and added it back on in the autumn. I will leave BT sport as it is because it is part of my current broadband package.

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports Main Event add-on

@PaddyK  Although you were able to add it previously but as the TV packages have now change the according to @StewM @post it is no longer possible to add it back to a legacy package.  You will need to select one of the new TV packages with a new contract

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports Main Event add-on

Hi All Hope you are all well!

Thanks for this Very Helpful I am considering cancelling this as well couple of questions:

1) If I cancel and the re-add at a later date will it

a) Cost £35 a month instead of £30 or

b) you wont be able to get Sky Sports Main Even you would have to sign up for all Sky Sports Channels (which I dont really want!)

Thanks

Dave

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports Main Event add-on

Hi, I presume you are on one of the legacy packages?

As stated above if you cancel, you won’t be able to add it back. If you want Sky Sports again you will need to take out one of the Now TV Packages.

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports Main Event add-on

Yes, either Big Sport or VIP. Bear in mind you get all the Sky Sports channels on these packages - all 11.
