Up until today there has been no problem accessing BT emails via the Android Yahoo email App.
Today the app spends ages trying to access the Inbox and then presents a 'Sign in with Yahoo' login screen, an 'Unable to use this account' message screen then appears when trying to login. Then after pressing 'Continue' on this latest screen a BT webpage is presented giving information about 'Yahoo' not being supported and the recommendation to use the BT Email App.
Installed BT Email App on mobile, and when launched and set up received a message saying that app did not support that particular @btinternet.com account. Note - A 'BT Email' Welcome switchover message had not been recently received in the account's Inbox. I've received 'BT Email' Welcome messages for other BT email accounts and switched over to the BT Email App experience!
Is this a BT or Yahoo issue?
Suggestions welcome.

You should forget about using the BTMail app, check out the reviews to see why. You should also forget about using the Yahoo app, it will no longer work with BT accounts when they have been migrated to the "new" BTMail system and all accounts will be migrated.
You could use the on board email app or download one of the many email apps that are available such as BlueMail or Aquamail.
The settings you will need are in this link.
Many thanks for your reply and alternative email app suggestions.
I'm aware of the BT email app 'limitations' but I'm prepared to stick with it for the time being! I'm sure the app's developers are aware of the adverse reviews and are working hard to get it through the 'beta testing' phase ... 🙂
Is there any way of requesting from BT that a @btinternet.com email address be 'enabled' for the BT email app? Rather than just waiting for it to happen.

No, it becomes available to the app when the address is migrated from the BTYahoo system to the BT Mail system.
I really would recommend using an alternative app which will be totally agnostic to which system you are on and will be a far superior experience than the dire BT app.
Thanks, will now look at other email apps as the BT email address is definitely locked out of the Yahoo mail app. Each time a Yahoo mail app login is attempted I get bounced onto a BT web page with details of their app!
