I have been using my BT Home Hub 3 for many years without bothering to change the default password.
I cannot get my Chromecast TV thing to connect to my BT Hub without changing the settings on the Hub
At

I cannot change any settings without changing the password. Which appears to be named "Admin Password."
I cannot change the admin password.
I enter the current password, then enter the new password (twice). All options are rejected.
I can make no further progress.
I want to change that a bit.
I think the Hub is rejecting the ADMIN PASSWORD, not the new one I am trying to change it to.
I know I am using the correct password because I have not changed it from the DEFAULT PASSWORD, which I can see printed on the original sticky labels that I have kept AND which I have entered several times to connect various computers and phones to the BT Hub down the years.
Why is my BT Hub rejecting its own default Admin Password?
Please, someone, please put me out of my misery and tell me that my BT Hub 3 is incompatible with my new Chromecast TV thing. Then I can simply toss the Chromecast TV thing in the rubbish and get back to normal.
Try a factory reset of the hub by pressing the recessed button with a paperclip for about 20 seconds until the lights flash.
Thanks. I will try that.
You do not use the Admin Password to connect to Chromecast. You use the Wireless Passkey which should be something like BTHomehub3-xxxx
I think the OP is trying to connect to the hub not the Chromecast.
It was in response to the title of the thread and the OP posting this
