Re: Cannot upgrade online to Full Fibre 900

Go to solution
Thanks, I was able to upgrade now through calling twice - they had to use an older system and the lowest price they got it to was £61.99 per month. (They initially said it was more but that had the BT whole WiFi added which I got them to remove). They said they had to manipulate the packages it order to process it, and will be available from next Wednesday so fingers crossed!

@Caper, £56.99 - that was the first price they offered and I asked for lower but he said that is cheapest.

Still not back for me although it was originally there, speeds say 76mb online yet I have 330mb which was the max on the phone, wonder if they are doing a phase approach

@andrewmc121thanks, I would pay that no bother.  When I phoned up initially I was offered it for the same as @rossi2303 - "just £7 more" at £61.99.  More than the new customer price.

Can I ask the phone number you called to get it at that price?

Cheers.

Re: Cannot upgrade online to Full Fibre 900

Phoned the value team on 0800 587 4787

Was told, categorically, that I need to get an engineer out to activate my Full Fibre 900 and that won't be until June.

I queried why an engineer was needed at all and was told there was NO WAY to activate the 900 remotely.

I mentioned others on here that have had it done and other places I have read (ISP review) that HAVE had it activated remotely and I was told it was impossible for them to do.

So, disappointing all round I have to say.  I'm stuck paying £54.99 for the 300Mbps - the price promise only covers THAT PRICE and not what I thought and what looks like in the blurb that I shouldn't pay more than a new customer does.

Unless I recontract right now - which I'm not going to do because I want the fastest speed for the lowest price obviously.  So I'm not going to commit to 2 years even if there is a chance of upgrading to 900 at an undisclosed price.

May just hold out to see what other ISP's offer when this is all over.

@Caper   Try  0800 672 476  as that was posted on another thread with the poster getting the upgrade for the same price they were currently paying with it starting on the 7th April. The poster has. no idea how it was arranged

Re: Cannot upgrade online to Full Fibre 900

@conrad  That's the number I tried initially - the guy offered it to me for £61.99, said this was the price coming up on his system - I certainly didn't want to pay more than a new customer, so he advised me to contact the value team (the other number) who have told me they can't upgrade me without an engineer visit.

So one team was going to supply it no bother, if I paid extra, and the value team couldn't offer me it at all.

Frustrating.

Re: Cannot upgrade online to Full Fibre 900

Anyone had any success with upgrading or being allowed to upgrade when on the fibre page it flat out says Full fibre isn't available in your area yet when I'm already on fibre 250 and on Openreach it says I can have up to gigabit. I tried ringing the number it suggested(0800 672 476) and they told me the same, fibre isn't available... even though I'm already on it. And then passed me onto the 'fibre support team' who told me the same and that I couldn't get any faster than my current speed

Re: Cannot upgrade online to Full Fibre 900

I can’t upgrade either I’m being told fibre 900 is not available at my address. I had a nightmare ordering fibre in the first place,  so I wasn’t expecting any different to be honest.
The wholesale checker says I can get it and their system did a few days ago, every time I contact BT I get told different things. I will admit defeat and give up good luck to the rest of you.
