I just noticed the other day that BT finally released full fiber, during the last time we upgraded our FTTP to the newer version BT has changed the way they check your address its now giving me a diffrent result instead of showing at least the 300mb it stopped doing so, but after I just checked via https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband and it gave me this
After logging on to My BT check the upgrade to try again a hour later and it did the looking for new deals for me
thing and slapped this on my screen XD and now i can order the upgrade, I never called BT, Is it coincidence or did I
trigger it by checking on Openreach? give that a try
This is my https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ Result nothing changed on that for months
I should also add I did also entered 2 emails into this part on BT full fiber page a few hours ago before seeing this, My neighbours addresses are weird also some houses cannot get it and the entire estate is blotchy with FTTP even though they set the nodes on every poll
I followed what you said and the upgrade is available to me online too now. No idea if the Openreach bit made any difference!
I’m gonna ring up tho to see if I can get a better price - it’s showing as £62.99 for me.
Upgraded successfully via the FTTP team. Fibre 900 - £57.63 a month.
Didn’t work for me sadly, OpenReach says speeds up to 1GB, Bt checker says max 76mb yet when calling I can get up to 300mb.
Wonder when they will finally fix this
I phoned 0800672476 which got me through to the value team (I think someone posted this as the FTTP number earlier).
At least the guy was saying I could get the upgrade this time, but he wasn't able to budge on £61.99. Still more than a new customer pays. He said there was only 2 options on his screen and no way to alter it (which I though was the point of the value team, to have some leeway for customers at the end of their contracts) - the other option being the expensive whole home Wi-Fi thing.
I won't be recontracting for 24 months paying more that a new customer that's for sure.
How are folk getting it for £57 odd when every time I've asked I'm being told I need to pay £61.99 and that's it? Just checked and it STILL says on the BT homepage that Full Fibre 900 is £59.99.
So much for OFCOM rules stating that existing customers should NOT pay more than new customers?!
@SeanD I wonder if you are able to help me out here - the value team were going to upgrade me over the phone, but paying the extra seems a bit cheeky given the new regulations. If anything I was rather hoping for a couple of pounds discount for my loyalty as other posters have reported rather than a couple of pounds penalty!
its odd how there are so many prices for the same thing. Online it now shows me Fibre 900 + Halo 1 + Complete Wifi for 72.93 . On the phone even the FTTP team can't see this available for me. I intend to take the TV offering in a few months, so I may just take the online offer and then re-negotiate when I add TV.
@CaperIs that 61.99 with Halo 1 or without. How much was the Complete Wi-fi on top?
@jonstatt the £61.99 was Halo 1 - I didn't ask for the complete wi-fi price - I knew it wouldn't be cheaper that's for sure. The guy said that was the only 2 prices on his system and he's only seen anyone asking about it once before. He said he was the value team and that there was no way to budge on the price.
As I said before, it's there in plain sight on the BT broadband page - £59.99 for new customers so I cannot understand why I am expected to pay more to recontract given OFCOM rules on this now?!
Tried again today and I have successfully ordered the 900 package I got it for £54.99 with no haggling at all. I was only paying £45.99 for the 300 service so not sure if the offers are anything to do with what you are already paying.
