I’d been keen to know who helped and whether they could help us as we would sign up today if they could offer us either 500 or 900. I refuse to pay the same price for 300 that some people pay for 500!
Wish mine was that lucky. I kept calling bt weekly and was promised they'd get the sale in for fibre 900 on Friday, then Monday... Then told I can't get it until later this year. Spent so much time chasing. My renew is coming up in a few months and Id like fibre 900,or I might try looking elsewhere
I can’t say who helped but I’m sure they are reading this and will be able to sort it out for you guys (if it’s the same complex issue).
Your best bet is to reply to this thread rather than calling so they know who is affected. Also on the phone I think they can just tell you what is shown on their screens rather than a thorough investigation. Not entirely their fault and it’s not a simple flick of a switch behind the scenes. Jmmrly01 I was just as frustrated as you, I’d say to hang on for now. I’m sure you’ll get it soon - fingers crossed!
Great news Ja407, BT gave up with me 😞 a team was dealing with my issue and nothing more has been said.
Same issue as others, everything point to me getting 900 down and 95% of my street can get it but not me, even my neighbor and I'm semi detached haha
Enjoy and I'll be patient
Me too, JA407, just saw I had a private message from a couple of days ago and have now pushed ahead with the upgrade, hopefully it will be activated in a couple of days.
Dedicated work by the mod and hopefully this thread has helped sort out these behind the scenes shenanigans that have prevented many customers from tasting the sweet 900Mb goodness 😄
Hopefully it will become the simple flick of the switch that it really should be!
Seems like a lucky few get noticed and the issue looked at, whereas some posts don't even get acknowledged. Notholding much hope on this one.

It would be better if BT acknowledged there is an issue, this post is a prime example
I don’t think this is a case of a ‘lucky few’ and more of test guinea pigs. If I go online I can’t see options for full fibre when typing in my post code. I’m sure if I called to upgrade I wouldn’t be able to but I still managed to switch today with speeds faster than shown online for my post code on the BT website.
I don’t think there is an explanation as to what’s causing the issue but now it’s been highlighted and resolved for some people I’m sure an update will be coming soon. Just hang on in there- One of the mods is hero for escalating the issue and chasing an update/fix for everyone
Strangely I have had the opposite problem. I have seen the 900 offered since day one - this is what made is ultra frustrating.
Anyway, I've been told my order should go through in the next 48 hours, so fingers crossed.
I thank my mod contact (I think the same as you JA407) for sticking with this also through all my own moaning and groaning.
Shouting loudly and often does seem to help, I'm afraid my next port of call would have been the CEO('s team). I've found that route to work speedily in the past.
Anyway, it does seem as if the problem with the ordering has been identified so hopefully others orders will be more smooth sailing.
Hurrah! Glad you managed to get an order placed. Hopefully soon there will be an update for everyone.
You may also have to ping the mods to remove the cap on the upload speed. Mine was capped and download speed isn't that great at the moment. Planning to get a new router that's compatible with WiFi 6 as the Smart Hub doesn't support it by default so can't really taking advance of the blindingly fast speeds over a wireless connection just yet.
All just sounds like teething problems with a new launch of a new product.
