Hi All
Since I upgraded to Hub2 with Infinity I can't access my work Outlook Account. It works fine on Sky Broadband just not on BT. So I know its not the laptop or the application.
Im using a Dell laptop and access via RAS connection. It worked really well until I changed over to the new hub and faster connection.
Does anyone know how to fix this ?
Try turning Smart Setup off.
Hi Keith
Sorry I should have said .. I read your earlier post and have already switched that off .. and restarted the router .. still got the problem.
Can you access anything over the RAS (VPN?) connection?
There are a couple of things that can interfere with these connections.
Make sure that BT Web Protect an BT Parental controls are not activated via MyBT.
Also check that you are opted out of BT Web Address Help.

I assume normal Internet access is fine, its only when you use a RAS (Remote access Server)?
Hi Keith
I can actually connect to and use other features of my firms RAS access . For example I can get on the intranet and hook up to Microsoft Teams so its not even like its a O365 thing. The problem seems to be limited to Outlook.
My Neighbour has Sky Broadband and it all hooks up fine when I connected on their wifi. So it can't be admin settings on my company laptop.
I don't have Parental Comtrols, Web Protect or Web Address Help switched on.
Im baffled as to why it would only be email ?
So its not a RAS issue. assuming Outlook is connecting via the RAS, and not directly to the Internet, then I have no idea, you may have to ask your employers IT people.
If Outlook is connecting directly to the Internet, then there may be issues with the configuration, which is different from Sky. Sky router do use a different IP subnet to BT.
I think Sky use 192.168.0.xxx BT use 192.168.1.xxx, but I am afraid I do not know much about Outlook, but perhaps another forum member can offer some suggestions?
Hi,
just wondering if you ever got this resolved?
just switched over from Virgin to BT on Wed.
my outlook stopped working over RAS from my Dell laptop to my company. When I switch back to Virgin, it works.
Everything else works from Dell over BT on RAS.
for the next wee while we have bottlh Virgin and BT running in parallel.
thanks,
Ask your company IT guys if their mail server is IP Address concious, some are for security reasons and your IP Address will have changed simply by switching to BT. Furthermore BT don't offer static IP for residential broadband so it will likely change again at some time in the future
Hi all
I have got a work around. I purchased a TP Link Travel Hub ( WR902AC £40 on Amazon) I left it in default ETH mode. I have it connected via Ethernet cable to the BT hub but connect my work device wirelessly to the travel router ... haven’t figured out how it works it just does ..
