Changing FTTP Provider

I currently have FTTP and Digital Voice with BT, my contract is in it's last few months and I'm weighing up my options.

I'm aware of Ofcom's proposed 'One Touch' switching process but that isn't planned until Dec 2022 and as such will come to late for me, can anyone advise me of the current pitfalls associated with changing provider please.

As far as I’m aware you can’t have more than 2 OGEA Numbers Associated with one Circuit so it would be a case of Ceasing the BT Service and a new one being Provided for the new CP so there would be a disruption in service.

How long that takes I’m not to sure as it’s not something that requires an Engineering Activity.

TBH, if potentially switching away from BT to another provider, the appropriate place to ask isn’t here, but would be the gaining providers customer service reps, or a customer forum of that ISP, on their customer forum you obviously could ask if anyone could comment who had made the same switch switch you intend, as as far as pitfalls, then the main one is you could lose BT service on the date you leave but the new provider may not supply service on that date , but some time after.
