Clarity of whether bt email service is cancelled after leaving BT

Hi I recently switched providers for fibre broadband, i was told that after so long the email account s i have are downgraded (not sure in which way). But i would still be able to use them through bt webmail. When i just logged in there is a red message saying all my accounts and emails will be deleted on  18th July. Is this true ??? Some clarity appreciated please.

Thanks Bob

Re: Clarity of whether bt email service is cancelled after leaving BT

From the help page

Basic email is free.

You don't need BT broadband to have it. It has some of the same features as Standard or Premium email.

With Basic email you get:

  • Just one BT email address. You won’t be able to create new ones, but any you already have will still work
  • Access via www.bt.com only.  You can't use this email with an email client or on your device
  • Only BT ads
  • Protection from viruses, spam and phishing
  • Unlimited storage
  • UK-based tech support

It's a great choice if...

  • You're leaving BT Broadband and want to keep your email, but don't mind losing some features
  • You've been given your email by someone with BT Broadband, and they leave BT
  • You've been given your email by someone with BT Broadband, and they de-link your email
  • You've got Premium email and don't want to pay any more

If you're leaving BT Broadband and want to get Basic email, you need to order it when cancelling your broadband. You can't make a direct switch later.

If you do decide later that you want Basic email, you'll need to get Premium email and then downgrade.

No, you can order premium mail and then cancel it after a month to revert to basic mail.

As it says in the previous post. 😉

Re: Clarity of whether bt email service is cancelled after leaving BT

Hi @bob135 check out this link for more info on our BT email options after leaving BT broadband

If you're leaving BT Broadband and want to get Basic email, you need to order it when cancelling your broadband. You can't make a direct switch later.

If you do decide later that you want Basic email, you'll need to get Premium email and then downgrade.

If you've been given your email by someone with BT Broadband, and they leave or de-link your email,  we'll switch you to Basic. You can upgrade to Premium, or link your email to another BT Broadband account and keep Standard email.

Thanks

Neil

Re: Clarity of whether bt email service is cancelled after leaving BT

So i would have to do this for all  4 email account seperately?

Also how would i ensure all my email accounts i have  with bt  are included  without having to make new email addresses?

Ok  , If i sign up for premium  email using my previous main bt account email ,does it automatically include all the sub accounts?? I can still log in to BT using the main email and it has the sub accounts still listed and a link at the top to sign up for premium email.

Thanks

Good morning @bob135

Yes, signing up for Premium Mail would mean you'd keep the sub accounts associated to your main one.

Cheers,

Robbie
