Come on Mods - email logon , we cant all be making the same mistakes

I am still plagued with mail problems and frequently find the send/receive fails or the pop up appears asking for the password.

Heres just a few similar threads over the recent weeks, we cant all have made the same setting changes at the same time cvan we ? and for most they have had no problems for years and now persistant issues in last 2 - 4 weeks.   There is even suggestion that it is a known fault !!!!

Can something be done to escalate these problems as it is both annoying & frustratinng

Re: Come on Mods - email logon , we cant all be making the same mistakes

This is terrible.  I am thinking of migrating to Gmail for all my mail.

This NEVER happens with my Gmail address which is delivered to the same mailbox in Outlook, this confirms to me it is a

BTYahoo issue.

I have several sub addresses for different purposes, they don't all do it all the time, in fact the main address rarely does it.

Please sort this before we all leave.

As to emailling you;  I did and am still waiting 18 days later no response and increasing frustration.

Re: Come on Mods - email logon , we cant all be making the same mistakes

Hi all, just to add some support, i have been having the same issue for the past 2 weeks, getting worse, on my @btinternet.com account.  Now more often than not, the "enter password " box pops up when sending either automatically or manually (outlook 2007 Windows XP).

I tried all the fixes suggested by Microsoft support, to no avail.

Other POP3 (non-BT) accounts work fine, the settings in outlook are good because I can receive and send mail when I enter the password.  Not reported to BT yet because from experience and reading on here i don't believe the telephone support staff will accept it as BT issue.

And some more support.  Both myself and my wife keep getting these annoying pop-ups.  Only on BT pop mail and we do have sub accounts.  It is often the sub account that is affected but not always.  We both have other pop email accounts that synchronise fine.  What has happend to BT Yahoo servers ?  We use Outlook 2003(SP3) and XP(SP3).

Hi. Welcome to the forums.

As an interim measure, have a look at my shortcuts option 0d/h for a fix you might like to try (as well as logging into webmail and out again).

Re: Come on Mods - email logon , we cant all be making the same mistakes

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your suggestion.  Sorry to report that no improvement was noted after changing the address to pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk for POP3 incoming mail.

As many have said, pressing F9 in Oulook 2003 usually completes without pop-up.  Leave Outlook to check mail every 2 minutes and often the pop up appears.

All really puzzling.

Shaun.
