Community updates and hot topics

The BT Community is now 9 years old! Here is a look back to the last year

The last year has been another very busy year for the community and the moderation team, so we’ve put together a small snapshot of what has happened over the last 12 months.

Most viewed topics
Scam calls and scam awareness threads have been the most viewed topics over the last year, so it’s unsurprising that these threads have been a regular feature of this newsletter.

Most discussed topics
The longest thread last year was the Whole Home WiFi firmware thread, with almost 1200 posts on this thread alone. The community’s feedback proved invaluable in getting a fix rolled out.

This was followed by the Wifi Calling discussion totalling over 1000 posts.

Top boards
Unsurprisingly, the top boards were the Home setup, Wi-Fi & network discussions and the BT Fibre broadband boards, with millions of views and over 27.000 posts combined.

Changes to the community
Last February we revealed a new community design. The community had remained largely unchanged since its launch 2010 - it was a big change and not without its challenges, but it was a necessary and welcome one as it has made it easier for new members to post, as well as make the design responsive.

This allowed the community webpages to adjust to the screen size of the devices in use, which was a huge improvement from the original mobile version.

Thanks
A heartfelt thank you goes to our community leaders, who continue to offer some great help on the community, as well as all of our community members who regularly log on to post their advice. That’s what online communities are all about, and we couldn’t do this without you.

When asked to think of a BT landmark, most people would probably say London's BT Tower, but there are many more facilities scattered around the world.

Adastral Park isn’t quite as well-known - but it has played a big role in innovation for BT and several other companies since it was opened by the Queen on November 21, 1975.
