Complete v Whole Home wifi

I just spent nearly a day reading through the forums but didn't find relevant answers so am hoping someone in the community can help?

• What is the max number of discs supported by BT Complete wifi?
• Are there additional charges for any of these (beyond the 3 mentioned on bt.com)?
• Is there any technical difference between BT Complete and BT Whole Home wifi?
• What is the benefit of cable-connecting the discs (of either solution) back to the router?

I can’t offer answers to all but hope this helps.

Yes: The Black and White discs don’t have the same firmware and can’t be mixed to make one network.
# What is the benefit of cable-connecting the discs (of either solution) back to the router?
If you have a poor Wi-Fi environment, i.e. Wi-Fi has a problem going through walls then the Ethernet cable is the ideal solution, as this will help with the speed of the backhaul between discs, however the discs would work better if you use the 5GHz backhaul (solid Blue LED) also if you have more than one dis connected to the HUB by Ethernet make sure its connected to the HUB/router as some switches give Whole Home problems.

I have the Whole Home, I paid around £180 and this was a one off fee for 3x devices that I have taken with me from Virgin to Sky.

I believe the Complete is a rental package.

I think other than different firmware they are in short the same device but I cannot confirm this.

If you wanted the best speed possible hardwire all the devices this would give maximum speed and will work the best. I would of found this useful when I was with Virgin, My first hub would pull in 380mb on wifi, the other two would be around 200mb on wifi. Since moving to a 80/20 package with Sky they all get the same max speed. Although my devices are rather close together meaning they can share this speed, if one of my hubs had a low signal the speed would be much reduced.
