Confirmation of Premium Rate Call Barring

Good evening,

 

I've asked that my phone be barred from making calls to Premium Rate numbers.

 

Whenever I speak to a BT Customer Service Advisor, they assure me this is in place, but it never appears on the package section in my quarterly bill.

 

I'd really like this confirmed in writing in case, like others on here, I'm accused of making a Premium Rate call.

 

Is it really beyond BT's capability to add this to the bill each time?

 

Or, perhaps it's a dastardly plot!

Hi @WorriedParent,

 

Premium Rate Service Call Barring is a free service, which stops call to premium rate number. As the service is free to won't be listed on your BT Bill.

 

I can take a look at your account to confirm that Premium Rate Service Call Barring has been added to your account. You can send me in your details using the "Contact The Mods" link found in my profile.

What PaddyB doesn't reveal above, is that Premium Rate Call Barring had been "accidentally removed" from my call package when BT added International Friends & Family last August.

 

(It's essential that I have PR Call Barring in place, as I have a son with learning difficulties who could easily inadvertantly dial a Premium Rate number!).

 

So, many thanks to PaddyB for restoring it, but this really underlines my original suggestion that it ought to be stated on the phone bill so I can make sure it hasn't been "accidentally removed" again!
