My service started last Friday, Broadband and anytime calls. I contacted Live Chat today to ask about my contract dates. I was told all of the following - I have no service - my service starts tomorrow - contract ends 18.1.2013 - there is an order pending - contract has ended - then finally on the phone to someone in England I think - you have no contract just rolling service. Ah well we will see what happens in the future.
Everyone with a service from BT has a contract with the company. It is for at least 30 days (that's why you have to give 30 days notice to cancel) but may be for longer if that's what you've agreed (usually in exchange for an attractive price).
I'd leave it for a while to let the systems catch up then ask again.
