Infinity 1,2,3,4 are just marketing terms for the various speed caps, all can be delivered by FTTP but Infinity 1 and 2 can also be delivered by FTTC.

ok, well as im on FTTP ill just have to assume their advice is the best way as it means that providing the dates dont get pushed back i should be on INF2 by end of September and INF4 at beginning part of October

If it's a system problem the fair enough.

Once you're on Infinity 2, it should only take a day or so to swap you over to 4. It's only a software change.
